Unpopular opinion: I miss the old blueprint machines

Back in the day, you had to think about line weight and lettering spacing before you even put pen to paper, because you couldn't just zoom in and adjust it later. Now everything's on a screen, and I swear my hand sketching has gotten worse. Anyone else feel like they've lost a bit of that craft?

Actually, blueprint machines came later for reproduction. The real old school drafting was on vellum with ink, and mistakes were a nightmare. That forced the planning you're talking about.

My buddy's dad was an architect back in the day and told us about a huge ink spill on a nearly finished drawing. They had to start the whole section over from scratch, which took a whole weekend. He said you learned to check every measurement three times before the pen even touched the vellum. That kind of pressure really did make you think ahead in a way clicking 'undo' just doesn't. Makes you appreciate how much work went into every single line.

Honestly sounds like a good way to learn some new swear words.
