Hot take: I thought that new polymer cutterhead line was just marketing fluff.
Saw one on a job near Mobile last year and it's still running smooth after 8,000 hours, no major wear. Anyone else actually put one through the wringer yet?

Ever wonder if the real test is in the downtime? I mean, running for 8000 hours is one thing, but how's the swap-out when you finally need to change it? I saw a crew try to replace one after a bearing went, and the whole housing came apart cleaner than the old steel ones. No torch work, no seized bolts. That saved a full shift right there. Might be the hidden win.

We swapped a pump housing last year that was supposed to be a two day job. The new composite unit came out in three hours because nothing was rust-welded. That easy teardown turned a weekend overtime call into a regular Friday afternoon.

Sure, but it's just a pump swap, not like we cured cancer.

Yeah, our maintenance lead said the same thing about easy teardown being a huge hidden cost saver.
