Can we talk about why we still use metal corner bead on curved walls

For 15 years I always used paper faced metal corner bead on radius arches, fighting with it buckling and popping nails every time. Last spring I tried flexible PVC corner bead on a tricky curved ceiling job in a downtown Denver restaurant and it took half the time with zero callbacks. Has anyone else made this swap or am I just slow to catch on?

@susan_adams nailed it, once I tried PVC on a curved ceiling I never touched paper faced metal again.

Paper faced metal on curves was always a headache for me too, always wanted to buckle no matter how careful I was. Switched to flexible PVC on a bunch of radius arches last year and it just lays flat with no drama. Saves me time and headaches, I won't go back.

PVC is way easier on tight curves. No fighting with it every single time. Saves you the headache for sure.

Agree with you there. It's funny how we often stick with what we know just because it's familiar, even when a simple change would save us time and frustration. Once you find something that works better, it's hard to go back.
