Damp sponge trick for cleaner sanding days
My buddy showed me how wiping the edges with a wet sponge before sanding cuts the dust way down. It makes the air easier to breathe and cleanup is a snap.

Ugh, sanding dust is the worst. I've been breathing that stuff in for years and it's miserable. Glad there are some easy fixes.

My last project I used a spray bottle with a light mist. It let me control the dampness way better than a soaked sponge, especially on tricky moulding. The dust just clumped together and fell straight down instead of floating everywhere.

Does this work on curved edges too? I use a damp cloth on flat surfaces and it really cuts down the dust. That simple step makes the whole job less of a chore.

Hey @quinn_burns, that tip about the damp cloth on flat surfaces is spot on. For curved edges, it can work but you have to be careful. The cloth might not wrap around the curves well and could leave streaks. I found using a slightly damp microfiber cloth helps because it molds better. Just wring it out so it's not too wet, and gently wipe along the curves. This way, you still cut down the dust without making a mess.
