Seeing more spray foam behind drywall on jobs around Denver lately
Three years ago, I hardly saw it on residential work. Last month, a builder in Aurora had us hang board over closed cell foam on every interior wall. It was a pain to screw into, needed special fasteners. Last week, another client asked for it in their basement reno. Is this just a Colorado thing for insulation, or are you guys seeing it more too?

Heard a contractor on a podcast say spray foam is getting cheaper. Maybe that's why it's popping up more?

Wait, they're putting it on interior walls now? That seems like a huge waste of money for soundproofing you could get with cheaper stuff. I get it for exterior walls, but inside just makes the job harder for no real gain.

Doesn't this just feel like the latest "premium" thing builders push? I see it with everything now, like fancy kitchen faucets that cost a fortune but just spray water. People hear "spray foam" and think it's the best, so they ask for it everywhere without knowing why. Builders just say yes and charge more for the hassle.
