Walked into a remodel job near Denver and saw something weird on the ceiling
Some guy had used green board in a LIVING ROOM because he thought it was stronger. Has anyone else run into homeowners picking wrong materials from big box store advice?

Did your buddy check if the guy also used drywall screws meant for metal studs? My friend's neighbor did the same thing, bought a whole pallet of green board because the store guy said it was "tougher." Ended up having to tear it all down when the wife pointed out it's only for bathrooms.

Tell the store guy to check the manufacturer's specs before you haul it back.
