My neighbor told me to duct tape my garden hose instead of buying a new one
So last month I had this crack in my hose that was spraying water everywhere in my backyard. My neighbor Bob saw me getting ready to toss it and said just wrap some duct tape around it, it'll hold for the season. I figured why not, it's a $5 fix versus a $30 hose. I used about 3 layers of gray Gorilla tape, wrapped it tight around the leak. It's been 6 weeks now and that thing hasn't dripped a single drop. Has anyone else gotten a surprisingly long fix out of duct tape on something you'd normally replace?

@owens.anthony might need to wrap a few more layers around that self-esteem. Duct tape works better on hoses than feelings, trust me.

You ever notice how we're always trying to patch things up with the wrong tools? Like duct tape on a leaky pipe, it'll hold for a bit then you're back to square one, maybe worse off because you didn't fix the real problem. Same with self-esteem, you can't just slap on some quick fix and expect it to hold. It's like a cracked foundation, you gotta dig down and fix the roots, not just paint over the cracks. We do this with everything too, broken relationships, bad habits, even leaky faucets at home. We grab whatever's handy instead of taking the time to understand what's actually broken and how to really fix it.
