Hit 17 old laws in my town I never knew existed, like no bathing without a permit
Found a 1920s law in my town's code that requires a permit to take a bath between midnight and 6am, apparently to save water. Anyone else stumble on a weird old rule about something as basic as bathing?

That permit thing is wild but not surprising. A town near me still has a law on the books that makes it illegal to water your lawn during a drought unless you have a special exception from the village board. Was from the 1930s dust bowl days. People just ignore it now but technically could get fined if someone complained.

Oh, you just know there's a story behind every one of those dusty old laws. It's like the town council from the 30s was trying to plan for the worst, and nobody's bothered to clean house since then. I bet if someone actually tried to enforce it now, there'd be an uproar about common sense winning out over bureaucracy.
