PSA: My town still has a law about bathing on Sundays
Found out my town in Ohio still has an old ordinance banning baths on Sundays from 1911. I was painting my fence last weekend and a neighbor told me about it. Apparently you can get a small fine if someone complains. It was meant to keep people from working on the Lord's day, but bathing was considered work back then. I actually checked the town website and it's still listed in the code book. Nobody enforces it obviously, but it's just sitting there. Has anyone else found weird Sunday laws where you live?

Yeah Keith it's right there in the city code. Heard someone actually got warned about it a few years back.

1911 is actually later than most of those old blue laws, a lot of the sunday bathing bans were from the late 1800s. That's wild they still got it up on the town site though, most places just quietly forgot about em.

Hang on, they actually have it listed on the town website? That's wild. I figured old laws like that just lived in some dusty filing cabinet nobody ever touches. But putting it online for everyone to see is a whole other level of commitment to being weird.
