Got schooled by an old timer on a service call in Fresno
He watched me struggle with a corroded neutral for ten minutes. Then he just said, 'Kid, the wire ain't the problem, the connector is.' He was right. Ever had a simple fix completely blindside you?

Used to think the big, complicated problems were the only ones that mattered. Then I spent a whole afternoon trying to figure out why a door wouldn't latch, only to find a tiny piece of gravel stuck in the strike plate. @logan561 is right about that humble pie. It's like your brain gets so focused on the hard answer, it just skips over the simple stuff right in front of you.

Honestly, that "simple fix" moment is the best kind of humble pie.

Spent three hours last night trying to figure out why my code wouldn't compile. Turned out I had a missing semicolon on line 47. Felt like a total genius after that. Those little wins make the whole frustrating process worth it.
