I thought those new push-in wire connectors were a total gimmick
My boss bought a box of Wago 221s last year and I rolled my eyes, thinking they were just for lazy people. Then I had to troubleshoot a three-way switch in an old house with a dozen splices in a tiny box. Using those connectors to test each wire without cutting and re-stripping saved me over an hour. I still use wire nuts for most things, but I keep a few in my bag now. Anyone else have a tool they hated until it saved their butt?

My electrician buddy swears by them now.

Yeah, my friend's contractor put those in her kitchen reno last year. She was kinda unsure at first, but @barnes.stella is right, once a pro uses them they don't go back. She said the difference in her under-cabinet lights is crazy, way brighter and the color just looks better.

...and I'm over here still trying to figure out how to change a lightbulb without making the whole fixture fall apart. In my experience, those old LED strips from a few years back were hit or miss, and I've had plenty of them flicker out on me after a year or so. But hearing all you guys talk about these newer ones, maybe I should actually listen for once instead of just grabbing whatever's cheapest at the hardware store. My wife would probably appreciate not having to cook dinner under a weird blue-purple glow every night.

Totally agree, my brother's a carpenter and he switched his whole crew over to those. They did my mom's backsplash lights and it's like a different room now. The old ones had that weird blue tint and these just look clean and bright. Once you see them side by side there's really no going back.
