Just swapped out a whole building's fluorescent ballasts for LEDs over a weekend and the power draw dropped by 60% on the meter.
The owner called me Monday morning shocked his bill projection was cut almost in half, so has anyone else seen savings that dramatic on a commercial retrofit?

It's wild how much hidden waste old tech creates! Makes you wonder what else is secretly jacking up power bills.

Honestly that math seems off to me. A straight swap from fluorescents to LEDs should save a lot, but cutting the whole building's power draw by 60%? The meter reads everything, not just lights. Maybe the old ballasts were totally fried and drawing way over spec, or there was a bigger issue you fixed by accident. I've done tons of these and 40-50% savings on the lighting circuit is the usual win.

You're right to question it. The meter reading the whole building is the key. We found a few bad ballasts pulling crazy amps, but the real win was removing all those ballasts entirely. They're constant small loads even with good bulbs. Killing those phantom loads on every fixture adds up fast across a whole panel.
