Just learned that most HDMI cables over 15 feet don't actually support 4K HDR properly
I was swapping out a projector in a conference room last Tuesday and couldn't get a stable signal past 12 feet. Checked the specs on a few 25-foot cables I had and turns out they max out at 18Gbps, not the 48Gbps needed for full 4K HDR. Has anyone else run into this issue with long runs or found a solid workaround besides active cables?
Yeah, shane_park92 is right, 25 feet is asking a lot from a passive cable. I had to swap out a 20 footer once for a shorter run and just moved the gear closer, worked way better than any of those "boosted" cables I tried.
