The difference in my bench after switching to a proper fume extractor
Six months ago, my work area was a mess. I'd be soldering a board and the smoke would just hang in the air, my eyes would sting, and everything felt grimy. I was using a little desk fan pointed at a window, which did basically nothing. Last month, I finally bit the bullet and got a proper Hakko FA-430 fume extractor. The change is insane. Now, the smoke gets sucked right up at the tip, the air in my shop is clear, and my tools aren't getting that sticky film on them anymore. I didn't even realize how much the constant smell was bothering me until it was gone. It's one of those things you put off buying, but it makes the whole job feel more professional. Anyone else have a piece of gear they waited too long to get that totally changed their workspace?
