Shoutout to the old-timer who told me to count my service calls

I finally tallied them up and hit 10,000 last week. It hit me how many different buildings and weird problems that number represents, like that one in the old textile mill with the relay from the 70s. Anyone else keep a count, or am I just weird?

Hold up, you hit ten thousand? That number is just wild to think about. That's a whole career right there. I can't even picture all the weird little rooms and basements you must have seen. And a relay from the 70s still working? That's the kind of thing that makes you wonder how the building is even standing.

That's a whole lot of solved mysteries.

You say a relay from the 70s makes you wonder how the building is standing, but I see it the other way. That old part still working is proof they built things to last back then. New stuff fails all the time with cheap circuit boards. That relay doing its job for fifty years means the core structure is probably solid. They just don't make things with that kind of simple, tough design anymore. I'd trust that building more than a new one full of untested smart systems.
