Had a client last week who told me I was 'too aggressive' with extractions
She came in with serious congestion, I was just doing my job for 45 minutes, and she said I left bruises. Now she wants a refund and posted a review saying I ruined her skin. Has anyone else dealt with someone who doesn't understand that extractions take some pressure?

Right? 'Manhandling' is such a wild word for it. I had a guy last month tell me I was 'attacking' his face, like I was punching him or something. I was just trying to get a stubborn blackhead on his nose out that had been sitting there for weeks. He had the nerve to say I bruised him, but I literally showed him the gross white plug that came out of it and he still didn't get it. Bruising just means the stuff was deep and needed that pressure to come loose. People don't realize that if you don't go in hard enough, you're just pushing the infection deeper and it'll blow up into a huge zit later. If they want magic, they should go to a fortune teller, not an esthetician.

Right? People have no clue what goes into a proper extraction. Had a client once say I was 'manhandling' her when I was just getting a deep cyst out. She wanted a refund and everything, but I pointed out the bruising means the gunk came out. Where do they think all that stuff goes, through a magic portal?

Three years ago I had a similar situation with a client who complained that I was being "too rough" during a back facial. I had to explain that those deep cysts don't just dissolve on their own, they have to be MANUALLY expressed or they'll come back worse. The bruising she was upset about? That's just proof the infection came out instead of staying trapped under the skin. People really think we have a magic wand or something, like we can just wave our hands and all that congestion disappears. It's frustrating when they don't trust the process, especially when you've been doing this long enough to know what works. I feel your pain on this one, for real.
