Honestly, my steamer gave out right in the middle of a facial last Tuesday
It was a 3-year-old unit from a decent brand, just started spitting cold water. Client was super understanding, but I had to finish the treatment with hot towels. Ngl, it threw off my whole rhythm. What do you guys use for a reliable steamer? I'm looking to replace it this week and don't want to drop another $300 on something that'll konk out.

Why not just stick with hot towels? They never break and give you more control anyway.

Hot towels are great for some stuff, but they cool down way too fast for me. I tried using one on a sore shoulder and it was cold in like two minutes. A heating pad stays hot for the whole time you need it. The steady heat just works better for getting deep into those tight muscles.

You're both right about the pros and cons. One trick I learned is to wet the towel and microwave it in a ziplock bag. It gets way hotter and holds the heat longer than just running it under the tap. Still not as long as a heating pad, but it's a good middle ground when you want that moist heat.
