I was ready to quit on this one client's stubborn blackheads

She had these deep ones on her nose that just would not budge after steaming and extractions, and it was frustrating us both. Out of pure annoyance, I tried a trick I saw on a forum: I applied a thin layer of my regular salicylic acid serum, let it sit for 5 minutes, THEN did the steam and extractions. The difference was crazy, they came out so much easier. Has anyone else tried pre-treating with actives before a facial like that, or was I just lucky?

Wondered why we all just accept that blackheads need a wrestling match. Tried your trick on a client yesterday after reading this, and honestly, it felt like cheating. Turns out the secret to easy extractions is just asking the pore nicely to open up first, but with chemicals. Should have thought of using the acid before the steam years ago, would have saved my fingertips a lot of grief.
