I was sure that LED mask was just a fad, but my client's results changed my mind

A regular came in last month with stubborn redness and texture on her cheeks. She'd been using a basic at-home LED mask for 8 weeks and honestly, I was ready to give her my usual spiel about professional treatments being better. But her skin was visibly calmer and smoother. I had her bring the mask in, looked up the specs, and it actually used the right wavelengths. Has anyone else had a client surprise them with a legit at-home device?

Well, guess I owe my old clients an apology for my snobby attitude, lol.

My dermatologist friend was just talking about this. She said the big shift is that some of the cheaper brands now source the same diodes as the medical grade ones. She mentioned a specific study from last year that tested five popular masks, and three of them actually hit the exact 633 nanometer red light mark needed for collagen. It made her rethink her blanket advice against them.

Saw that same study, it was from a university in Australia. @jana881, that lines up with what my own derm said last month, that the tech has trickled down faster than expected. The gap between cheap and pro gear is definitely getting smaller.
