Overheard a client call chemical peels 'a scam' at the coffee shop this morning.

She was telling her friend that her at-home acid toner did the same thing as my $150 professional peel in two weeks. I wanted to jump in and explain the difference in concentration, safety, and results, but I just listened. How do you guys handle it when you hear major misconceptions about our work in public?

It's tough to just listen sometimes. I had a lady at the grocery store say something similar about lash lifts. I just smiled and said, "It's wild how strong some at-home stuff is now, but my tech's license is for the heavy-duty formulas that actually last." She got quiet and later asked for my card. A little info can plant a seed without starting a fight.

That "same thing" thinking is everywhere now...

Is it that big a deal if someone wants to use a weak product at home? They're not hurting your business by talking at a coffee shop.
