PSA: I thought gua sha was just a fancy rock until a client's puffiness went down in 15 minutes
For a long time, I saw gua sha as a trend with no real science behind it, just a smooth stone people were pushing. I figured it was all about the feel good part, not actual results. Then a regular came in with serious morning puffiness around her eyes and jawline, and on a whim, I grabbed my jade tool and followed a basic routine I saw online. I kid you not, after about 15 minutes of gentle scraping, the difference was clear. Her face looked more lifted and the swelling was way less. It made me wonder if I was wrong to dismiss it so fast. Now I'm torn between thinking it's a legit drainage technique or if it's just temporary from the massage part. Has anyone else had a moment like this that changed their mind on a tool or method?

That part about the puffiness going down in 15 minutes is exactly it. We write off so much stuff as just a trend without trying it. I see this all the time with people and home fixes too, they'll swear something is useless until they see it work right in front of them. Sometimes the simplest physical action, like moving fluid around, just gets results a cream never could.

My sister's chronic jaw tension basically vanished after two weeks of nightly gua sha. It's hard to call that just a placebo.
