Found something weird at the old train station in Portland last weekend

I was poking around the abandoned Union Station platform and noticed these strange symbols carved into the concrete under the benches. Looked like some kind of date system, but it didn't match any train schedule I could find online. Has anyone else seen markings like this at old depots or know what they mean?
