My dad claimed the Great Wall of China is visible from space with the naked eye. I always believed it until a friend with a telescope background broke it down last weekend.

Oh man that's exactly what happened with my uncle. He swore up and down you could see it from space until I pulled up that NASA interview where an astronaut straight up said it's not true. He got all quiet and changed the subject. It's wild how those old textbook myths just stuck around for decades before the internet fact checked everything.

The funny thing is even astronauts have said you can't see it without help. Your dad probably heard that myth back when textbooks had it wrong.
