Had to choose between a big anvil or a new forge for my shop

I picked the anvil, a 150 pounder from a retiring farrier in Spokane, because my old one was cracked. Now I'm kicking myself because my forge gave out a week later and I'm stuck using a borrowed one that won't get hot enough. Anyone have a good fix for a worn-out burner on a Diamond Farrier Tools propane forge?

Honestly, "kicking myself" seems a bit harsh lol. That anvil will last forever, a burner fix is just a temporary setback.

Am I the only one who thinks the forge being down is a bigger deal than people are letting on? @wendy820 basically nailed it - a broken workflow messes up everything, not just one project. Morgan, I get your point about the anvil being forever, but if your burner's shot, you're just staring at a cold forge while jobs pile up. That's not exactly a "temporary setback" when you're trying to get stuff done this week. The anvil's a great buy for the long haul, but you gotta be able to heat metal now too.

Morgan's right that the anvil is a forever tool, but calling a broken forge just a "temporary setback" is way too simple. A bad burner means you can't heat metal right, so every project gets messed up. That's not a small thing, it stops all your work. You made the smart long-term buy, but being stuck with a cold forge is a real problem right now.

Maybe @morgan_king36 forgot how a broken forge can wreck your whole shop's workflow, not just one project.
