Shoutout to the old guy at the Spokane fairgrounds who showed me a better way to set a shoe

Last week, I finally got a tricky draft horse to stand still for a full reset using his method from 3 years ago... anyone else have a little trick that just clicked for them later on?

Nah, that old advice never worked for me.

Fake it till you make it" left me giving a presentation about "synergizing our core deliverables" once and I still don't know what half those words meant. The worst part was my boss nodded along like I was a genius, so now I'm too scared to ever admit I have no idea what I'm talking about. At least the meeting got out early, so I guess that's a win?

Guess it depends on the advice. Telling someone to just "be themselves" in a job interview is a classic. You show up as your full weird self, @murray.cora, and they ask if you're okay. Or "fake it till you make it" just leaves you in a meeting having no clue what a Gantt chart is. Some old sayings need to retire for good.

Ugh, yes, I once tried the "fake it" thing and totally bombed a group project!
