Debate: Is a 500-foot vinyl fence in one day a realistic goal for a two-person crew?
I hit 480 feet last Thursday with my apprentice, and the argument is whether pushing for that extra 20 is worth the risk of sloppy work or if it's better to call it a solid day and finish clean the next morning.

Honestly, hitting 480 is already crazy good. That last 20 feet is when stupid mistakes happen, and then you're back the next day fixing your own rush job anyway.

Totally agree, that last stretch is where you get sloppy and cut corners. Been there so many times, trying to beat the sunset or just being sick of the project. Next thing you know you're redoing a whole section because you were rushing to call it done. It's never worth it lol.

But here's the thing, what were the last 50 feet like? If you were already fighting the post hole digger and your lines were getting wavy by foot 470, then no way. If it was smooth sailing and you just ran out of daylight, maybe. The real question is how clean was the work at 480.
