Had to choose between cedar and pressure-treated for a big backyard job in Omaha last month. Went with cedar, cost me about $800 more but the client is over the moon.

Honestly, I used to always go with treated, but man, cedar just lasts.

Right? Made the switch a few years back and it's a total game changer. That pressure-treated stuff always ended up looking sad and warped after a couple seasons. My cedar deck still looks solid and it's been through some brutal winters. Plus, you don't get that weird green tint or have to worry about chemicals.
