Read a blog post about 24V systems and now I'm rethinking my whole solar setup
I was dead set on 12V for my cabin because that's what everyone talks about, but this guy's write-up showed me how much smaller the wire gauge can be for a 500W array at 24V. Saved me about $60 on copper alone for a 30-foot run. Has anyone else made the switch and regretted it or loved it?

Yeah I went 24V on my off-grid shed and honestly haven't looked back. The wire savings alone made it worth it.

That $60 you saved on wire, did you have to buy a more expensive charge controller to handle 24V or did it even out in the end?

Nah, my buddy Mike did 24V and @james_bell is right - the charge controller cost him maybe $20 more, still came out ahead.
