A decade-old Facebook post finally got my boss fired last week.

So last week, this crazy thing happened at my old job. My boss had put up a rude meme on Facebook like ten years back. Nobody cared until now, when someone dug it up and shared it. The post was about a client we work with, and it was pretty mean. The company took a week to decide, then let him go right away. I'm split on if it was fair since it was so old, but it did hurt our image. Makes you think twice about what you post online, even years ago.

Heard about a case like this where an old joke led to a firing.

Yeah, I've seen that happen. Some old, dumb joke from a decade ago gets dug up and suddenly you're out of a job. Like that time someone got fired for a tweet they made in college. It's crazy how things can come back to haunt you.

Thankfully my old posts are just cringe, not fireable offenses.

But is it really that serious most of the time? @ruby322, those stories get spread around because they're wild, not because they're common. Most bosses have better things to do than dig up ancient jokes.
