Had a nightmare with a glue-down vinyl plank job in a basement last month
I was finishing up a 500 square foot basement in a new build over in Springfield, the kind with a concrete slab that felt a bit dusty. The homeowner wanted this specific glue-down vinyl plank, the kind that needs a perfect bond. I prepped the floor, rolled out the adhesive, and started laying it down... but the next morning, I came back and the planks were bubbling up in the middle of the room. The adhesive just didn't set right on that slab, even after cleaning. I had to pull up about 200 square feet of it, rent a floor grinder for a day to really rough up the surface, and re-do the whole section with a different primer. Cost me an extra day and a half of labor. Has anyone else run into concrete that just won't take adhesive no matter how much you clean it?

Man, that's rough. Honestly, a dusty slab needs more than just cleaning, it needs a proper sealer or primer first.

Facts. Gotta lock that dust down first or it's just a waste of paint.
