Dropped $200 on a fancy orchid mister that basically just makes it rain inside my cooler

I got this high-end mister for a big orchid order, thinking it would give them the perfect humidity without wetting the leaves. Now my walk-in cooler has its own weather system, and I'm wiping down walls twice a day. Anyone have a better way to keep humidity up for a dozen phalaenopsis without creating indoor fog?

Try putting a shallow tray of water and pebbles under the plants instead. The water evaporates slowly and gives them the humidity they need right around the leaves. I use those black plastic trays from the garden center, fill them with lava rock, and just keep an inch of water in the bottom. It stopped all the fog and wall drips for me.

Just be careful the pot isn't sitting in the water directly.

Oh man, @hannah320's lava rock trick sounds way better than my soggy towel mess.

airflow under the pot is just as critical as the pebble tray itself.
