Just read that the average wedding bouquet uses flowers from 7 different countries. Found that in a trade magazine article about supply chains.

My own love life's supply chain is way less global, trust me.

My last three dates were all within a ten mile radius of my apartment. @sean854 has a point about keeping things local, it just cuts out so much hassle. You don't have to deal with crazy time zones or flight costs just to see someone. Everything feels more straightforward when you're pulling from the same basic area code. It makes the whole process way less complicated from the start.

keeping things local" sounds safe but man, it feels limiting. I met my partner online and they live two states over. The distance kinda forced us to talk way more before we ever met up, and it worked out great. Sometimes a bigger pool is worth the hassle.

Wait, SEVEN different countries? For one bouquet of flowers? That's wild. I mean I knew flowers get shipped around but that's like a whole UN summit sitting in some bride's arms. Are they really importing stems from Kenya or Colombia just to wrap them with greenery from somewhere else? That seems like so much carbon footprint for something that's gonna wilt in a week. I guess that explains why my friend's wedding flowers cost more than my first car.
