Remembering the Valentine's Day we sold out by 10 AM
It was 2015, and we had a huge ice storm hit our town the night before. I got to the shop at 4 AM to find the power out and the backup generator for the coolers had failed. My dad, who used to run the place, showed up with a truckload of candles and every spare blanket from his house. We worked by candlelight for three hours, wrapping roses in the cold, until the lights finally flickered back on. Anyone else ever have a holiday where everything went wrong but you somehow pulled it off?

Honestly, is it really that big of a deal to wrap some flowers in the dark? I get it was a tough morning but people act like working without power for a few hours is some huge life event. Tbh logan561 has a point about the stress, but come on, it's just flowers. You got through it and the lights came back on. Sounds like a story that gets more dramatic every time it's told.

That's a wild story. How did you even keep the flowers from freezing before the power came back on?

Man, that must have been so stressful. Were you just wrapping them in blankets or something? I had a fridge die on me once and lost a whole week's groceries, it's the worst feeling. Really makes you appreciate how much we rely on that little light staying on. Hope everything turned out okay in the end.
