Back then, food was just food, not like this 'vitamin-enriched' juice I got.

Who needs extra vitamins when it's mostly sugar water anyway?

Exactly. It's just marketing to make you feel less bad about drinking junk. They take a cheap product full of corn syrup, dump in some lab-made vitamins, and call it healthy. The vitamins don't even get absorbed right without the real fiber and stuff from actual fruit.

Wow, I totally bought into that stuff before too. You're right about the vitamins not working without the real food parts, it's just fake healthy. Really makes you see the whole drink aisle differently now.

Why not blend whole fruit like I did?

Maybe for some people it's the only way they get any vitamins at all. My neighbor works crazy hours and grabs that stuff for breakfast. It's better than just a soda. Sure, real fruit is best, but calling it just sugar water feels a bit harsh. Sometimes convenience has to count for something.
