Hot take: The 'natural flavors' in my smoothie from that new place on 5th Street are just a sugar trick.
I checked the label after buying a 'green detox' blend there yesterday and the second ingredient was agave syrup, which they don't mention anywhere on the front of the cup.

Check the label on anything calling itself a detox or a cleanse. How many times have you seen "natural flavors" and then found three different kinds of syrup in the small print? It makes you wonder if the whole health trend is just a way to sell overpriced sugar water.

Ngl I saw a thing online about how "natural flavors" can legally mean stuff like castoreum, which comes from beaver glands. It's still called natural. That whole label feels like a trick to make you think you're buying something pure. My friend got a "blueberry acai" drink that just had white grape juice and flavor packs. You really have to read the tiny print on everything now.

Yeah it's wild. I grabbed a "strawberry banana" smoothie once and the first real fruit was like the fifth ingredient. Mostly just juice concentrate and "natural flavor".
