I finally stopped falling for the 'no added sugar' trick on yogurt
For years, I'd grab yogurt with that big 'no added sugar' label, thinking it was a healthy pick. I mean, it's right there on the front. But about three months ago, I was making a snack for my kid and actually read the full label on our usual brand. The second ingredient was 'fruit juice concentrate' which is basically just sugar with a fancy name. It had 22 grams of sugar in one little cup. I felt pretty dumb. Now, I only buy plain yogurt and mix in my own frozen blueberries or a tiny bit of honey. It tastes better and I know exactly what's in it. Has anyone else found a 'healthy' label that hid something obvious once you looked closer?

Honestly, the "natural flavors" label gets me every time. That can mean anything. Tbh, plain yogurt with a spoonful of real jam is my go-to now.

It's such a vague term that it feels almost meaningless. You're right to just make your own version with real ingredients. I've started doing the same thing with plain yogurt and fresh fruit. The flavor is so much cleaner, and you actually know what you're eating.

Wait, so "natural flavors" could be like, tree bark and a secret? I mean, at least my yogurt only has fruit in it, not mystery.
