My 'light' ice cream showdown at the grocery store
So I grabbed two pints of vanilla ice cream yesterday, one labeled 'light' and one regular. The 'light' one said 'half the fat' right on the front. I checked the back and the 'light' had 200 calories per serving, the regular had 220. But the 'light' serving size was half a cup and the regular was a third of a cup. Did the math and the 'light' actually had more calories per scoop. Felt totally tricked. Anyone else notice serving size games on 'healthy' labels?

That "half the fat" line is the oldest trick. It's like @sagecooper said, they just change the rules. I see it everywhere now, from yogurt to salad dressing. Makes you not trust any of the words on the front of the package.

It's the same with cleaning products. They'll say "twice the power" but you're just getting a smaller bottle for the same price. When does it end?

Yeah the serving size games are wild lol. I've seen that with chips too where the "healthier" bag just has smaller portions.
