Pro tip: don't trust a crypto wallet from a guy at a bar

I bought into a 'free speech coin' some dude pitched me in Denver, thinking it was a cool way to support the cause. Lost $500 in about a week when the project just vanished. Anyone know a legit way to actually support censorship-resistant projects without getting scammed?

Censorship-resistant projects" just reminds me of that time I tried to use a P2P file sharing app and it was just full of malware.

But that's the whole point. wade250 had a bad app, but the good ones just work. My old stuff still runs fine because of those projects.

Yeah the whole "censorship resistant" thing works great until you actually try using it. I downloaded something from a p2p network in 2018 and it gave me three different trojans and a bitcoin miner. It took me like two weeks to clean it all out. I mean maybe it's just me but it feels like the people pushing this stuff forget that most regular users don't want to manually verify every single file's hash or run it through a sandbox first. The decentralized part sounds cool in theory but in practice it's just a free for all with zero moderation. Even the "good" projects end up being a headache unless you're willing to spend hours learning how to secure your own setup.
