I know everyone says to never work without a contract, but I just finished a $1500 logo job in Miami on a handshake.
The client ghosted after delivery, and I had to spend 3 weeks chasing payment through small claims. Has anyone else had a contract fail to protect them when things went south?

A handshake isn't a contract, though.

But it can be a real promise, right? Like your word should mean something. Maybe it's just me but a handshake seals the deal way more than some paper sometimes.
