Just realized sending a short video pitch instead of an email got me a new client in under a day
I was tired of getting ghosted on proposals, so last week I tried something new for a web design gig. Instead of a long email, I recorded a quick 90-second Loom video where I just talked through my ideas for their site. I sent it over on a Tuesday morning. The client replied that same afternoon, said it felt way more personal, and gave me the project. I learned that showing a bit of your personality can cut through the noise faster than a perfect written pitch. Anyone else tried video for proposals and had it work or totally flop?

Honestly, does this just show we're all tired of talking to robots? Tbh, I get so many cold emails that sound like they were written by a computer. Getting a video must feel like a real person finally showed up. Ngl, it makes total sense because you're selling your taste and your ideas, not just a list of services. That personal touch cuts through when everyone else is just sending text on a screen. I bet this works for way more than just web design pitches too.

You get cold emails that don't sound like a computer wrote them?

I did a 90 second screen recording last month for a logo project and got a yes in two hours. I just pointed at their old logo on my screen and talked about three simple changes. It felt less formal than writing a whole case study, you know?
