Just saw a 'freelance co-working day' in Seattle that felt like a total scam

They charged $50 for a coffee and a seat, then tried to upsell everyone on a $300 'mastermind' package. Has anyone else run into these pay-to-play networking traps?

That's not always a scam, just a bad deal. Some places really do offer good connections for the price.
