My freelance income hit $8,000 last month and it scared me
I've been a freelance copywriter for two years, and my average monthly take was around $4,500. Last month, I landed a huge project with a tech startup and the total hit $8,000. The problem is, it's all from that one client. I realized I have zero safety net if they leave. How do you all build a stable income when one big job can throw off your whole plan?

Why are you so scared of a good thing? Landing a big client like that is a huge win and proves you can handle major projects. Instead of panicking, use that extra cash to build your safety net right now. Focus on keeping them happy and the money coming in while you bank the surplus.

That "zero safety net" feeling is real, my friend had the same panic.

Yeah that moment when you check your bank account and there's just...nothing. Like you could cover a pizza or a parking ticket, but not both. My brain just starts listing every possible disaster, from a flat tire to a surprise dentist bill. It's not even about being broke, it's the sheer terror of knowing one small thing going wrong means actual trouble.
