Unpopular opinion: Having fewer clients made my freelance life better
Everyone says to stack up clients for security, but I found that too many made me scatterbrained and unhappy. I fixed this by only keeping the ones that paid well and were easy to work with. It took firing a nightmare client to see my stress drop and my bank account stay the same.

Cutting clients can backfire if you don't have replacements ready. Your situation worked out, but it's risky to assume income stays stable.

It's a calculated risk that pays off if you plan it right. You make room for better clients instead of just holding on to everything. Strategic cuts beat clinging to unstable income.
