Update: The coffee shop in Denver with the 'freelance corner' board changed my whole week

I was at a place called The Grind House last Thursday and they have a whole wall with a bulletin board just for freelancers. It's not just gig ads, it's stuff like 'looking for a proofreader for a 10-page contract' or 'need a logo designer, budget $500'. I wrote down three solid leads in twenty minutes. It felt way more direct than scrolling online. What other spots in your city have you found that actually help connect local freelancers?

Honestly that sounds amazing. Tbh the constant online scrolling for work can feel so lonely and fake sometimes. Ngl I wish my city had a spot like that, a real place where you can just walk up and see actual local needs. The library here tried a small board but it's mostly ads for yard work and lost pets. Something direct like a proofreading job or a real budget for a logo is a total game changer.

Our old diner had a board like that, real jobs.

Proofreading jobs on a corkboard? @corap21, that's the dream, but I don't buy it.

Look at the jobs on those boards though... half the time it's just people wanting cheap labor. Susansingh, your old diner board probably had dishwashing for cash, not real careers. The library board with yard work sounds about right for what actually gets posted. It's a nice idea but it's not some big fix.
