Why does nobody talk about the coffee shop in Boise that basically saved my business?
I was about to quit after 4 months with no clients, but overhearing two guys talk about their project there gave me the idea to cold email local design firms. Anyone else find a weird spot that turned things around?

I mean it's just a coffee shop lol. You got lucky overhearing some guys, that's not the place "saving" your business.

That's a great point about how random, public places can spark ideas. It happens all the time, just overhearing bits of conversation that connect the dots for you. Those unplanned moments outside your usual routine are where a lot of good ideas come from. Makes you want to work from a diner or a park bench more often.

My old boss used to set a timer for 45 minutes and just sit in a busy food court with a notebook. He said the goal wasn't to eavesdrop, but to let your brain get bored enough to start making its own weird links between what you see and what you're stuck on. It works better than forcing it at your desk sometimes. The key is to go without a real agenda, just be present and let your mind wander.
