Was always anti-bike lane on Chapman until I actually rode it last Tuesday
I've been driving Chapman for 15 years and always thought those bike lanes were a waste of space that just caused traffic. Then I had to bike to a repair shop on Euclid and actually used the lane myself. Anyone else change their mind about something after trying it firsthand?

Study sounds a bit too clean. 30% is a big number. Bet the real world is messier with timing and traffic patterns. @nelson.vera probably read a cherry picked one. People fighting over bike lanes feels like a stretch. City planners just trying stuff.

Read a study that said bike lanes actually reduce car accidents by like 30% on busy streets. Never would've believed that until I saw how it forces drivers to slow down a bit. It's wild how different things look from the other side.
