Thinking back to my first solo trip and where travel might go

I took a train ride across the state when I was younger, just me and a backpack. Buying a ticket meant waiting in line at the station, chatting with other travelers. Now you can book everything on your phone without talking to anyone. I wonder if future trips will all be virtual or if we'll still want to go places for real. Maybe we'll have faster trains that make distance not matter as much. But will that take away the fun of slowly seeing the landscape change? Sometimes the best parts were the random stops and meeting new people. How do you see travel changing in the next few decades?

My cousin's flight got rerouted last year and she said the forced layover was just stressful, not some fun adventure. I'd rather have a smooth trip than rely on breakdowns for human connection.

Remember that time my bus broke down in the middle of nowhere? Honestly, we all just got out and hung out by the side of the road for like two hours. Met some weirdly cool people I never would have talked to otherwise.

Feel that bus wait pain from my own airport delay last month. Honestly thought I'd lose my mind just sitting there. Sometimes those weird stops make the best stories though.
