Just saw a battery test on the new 'EcoPower' solar charger that made me double-check my own gear

I was watching a detailed review from 'TechTruth' on YouTube last night. They ran the solar panel under a 500-watt lamp for 8 hours straight to simulate a cloudy day. The final charge it put into a power bank was only 12%, not the 35% their marketing claims. I've been relying on similar specs for my camping trips. Has anyone else found big gaps between advertised and real-world performance on solar gadgets?

Yeah, that "simulate a cloudy day" test is a real eye-opener. I've had a portable panel for years that barely trickles a charge unless it's direct, perfect sun. Makes you wonder how they even get away with those lab numbers.

What lamp did they use for the test?

That TechTruth test used a 6500K LED, @wendy820, which is a good match for real sunlight.

My buddy brought one of those on a fishing trip last year. His phone died faster than it could charge, even sitting out all day. He was pretty mad about the waste of money.
