Serious question, has anyone else had a reviewer completely miss the point of a tool?

My buddy swore his new $80 laser level was junk because it couldn't project a line across his entire 50-foot basement, but he was trying to use it for a job that clearly needed a rotary laser. What's a gadget you've seen get unfairly slammed for not doing something it was never meant to do?

Exactly! It's like blaming a hammer for not being a screwdriver. That shift in thinking is huge. You start to see that most of the time, the problem isn't the tool being broken, it's the person using the wrong one for the job. It saves so much frustration when you learn to match the tool to the task instead of expecting magic.

People blame tools for their own bad planning.

Totally agree. I used to get mad at apps for being slow until I started blocking out time for deep work on my calendar. Now when I miss a deadline, I know it's because I didn't stick to my own plan, not because the software failed. It's a tough habit to build but it changes everything. You stop looking for a perfect tool and start fixing your own process.
