Update: That $80 'smart' water bottle that tracks your intake is now a dumb paperweight after 4 months.

The app stopped getting updates, the battery won't hold a charge anymore, and I'm back to using a regular bottle I got for free at a bank opening, so has anyone found a tracker that actually lasts more than a year?

Ugh, that's the perfect example of why I'm scared to buy any of that stuff. It feels like they're built to fail right after the warranty ends. My experience with smart gadgets is they're just expensive trash waiting to happen. I've got a drawer full of dead fitness bands that tell the same story. At this point, the only reliable tracker is my own brain telling me I'm thirsty.

That drawer full of dead fitness bands is a whole mood. My old smartwatch just bricked itself trying to update, so now it's a very tiny, sad paperweight.

Hold up though, is it really that big of a deal? I mean, it's a watch, not a life support machine. They're basically fancy toys that break after a few years, same as most electronics now. Idk, maybe it's just me but I don't expect my cheap plastic tracker to last forever. It's annoying when it dies, sure, but it's not some deep tragedy.
